Lighthouse of Bibione

The Bibione Lighthouse offers a number of unique experiences:

Unspoilt biodiversity: Thanks to its location near the mouth of the Tagliamento River, the landscape around the Bibione lighthouse is a fascinating mix of natural environments ranging from forest, pine forest, dunes and beaches, while the varied flora includes the Austrian Black Pine, holm oak, various orchids and many other botanical species.
  1. Wedding celebrations: The lighthouse is home to a civil registry office, allowing for romantic and unforgettable weddings.
  1. Family management: The Paro family from Cesarolo, the Gusso family from Caorle and the Zulian family from Trieste won a competition to manage the lighthouse in the 1920s, settling in the adjacent building.
  1. Love and cooperation: In the serene atmosphere of the lighthouse, a love affair developed between a young Apulian sailor and the daughter of one of the keepers. This bond, initially secret, culminated in marriage after the sailor’s discharge.
  1. Multifaceted events: Besides being an architectural icon, the lighthouse is the stage for various events, including music concerts, art exhibitions and scientific conferences.
