Fontana delle Tette

The “Fontana delle Tette” is a monument dating back to the 15th century. During the visit of King Henry III of France in the Carnival period in 1559, the fountain was used to freely distribute red wine to the citizens. Red wine flowed from the breast of the fountain, instead of water, to celebrate the event and welcome the king. his symbolic gesture was an act of generosity towards the population

The fountain is in the same square of the Palazzo dei Trecento, next to Piazza dei Signori, in the heart of the old town centre.

It presents an interesting design, with four female busts from which water flows. The figures allegorically represent the four Venetian provinces at the time
