Pisani Battery Museum

The telemetry towers along Via Pordelio were part of Venice’s defence system, built before the First World War to protect the city from sea threats. Their beginnings date back to at least 1905, correlated with the dating of the Amalfi, Pisani, Radaelli and San Marco artillery batteries, as documented in the book ‘Edifici storici del Litorale del Cavallino’ (Historical Buildings of the Cavallino Coastline) by G. Bozzato, R. Costantini, P. Santostefano, M. Trevisan, A. Vian, published by the ‘Tra Mar e Laguna’ Association.
