VIA DEI FORTI is a diffuse museum, an open-air itinerary linking the military fortifications along the Cavallino-Treporti coastline from 1845 to 1917, promoting the historical and natural enhancement of the area. Its centrepiece, the Pisani Battery, has been reopened to the public as a museum after restoration work and focuses on the memories of the Great War with exhibitions, interactive areas and activities for children, while the cycle circuit also passes through the Amalfi Battery and Fort Treporti at Punta Sabbioni.
HOW TO GET THERE
Leave Jesolo Lido with Line 23/A (Bus 5 Lido di Jesolo – Cavallino – Punta Sabbioni) and get off at Cavallino centre. From here, take line 96 (Cavallino – Via Pordelio – Punta Sabbioni) and get off near Ca’ Pasquali to visit the Crepaldo Telemetry Tower from the outside.
For the Amalfi Battery: from Lido di Jesolo with line 23/A get off at Ca’ Savio Chiesa and from here on foot turn first into Via Isonzo and then into Via Retrone.
For the Pisani Battery: with Line 23/A get off at Ca’ Vio and take Via Tesina and then Via Livenza until you reach Via Vittor Pisani where the Pisani Battery is located.
