Piazza Ferretto<\/b>the town\u2019s living room, overlooked by the main buildings of Mestre, such as the \u201cPalazzo del Re\u201d (the King\u2019s Palace), the cathedral, the Clock Tower and the former Excelsior Cinema (among the first ones in Italy). The square is now a pedestrian area, with numerous shops and caf\u00e9s, and hosts several events throughout the year. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Clock Tower <\/b>is what remains of the ancient medieval castle and city walls, and served as control tower and entrance gate to the town. It is possible to visit the different tower floors thanks to the volunteers who are there to explain its history and events. he cathedral, dedicated to San Lorenzo, dates from the Middle Ages and is the main place of worship of the Venetian inland. The refined \u201cMatteotti\u201d Gallery is instead a wonderful example of liberty style from the beginning of the 20th century and offers an amazing walk along a road covered by a steel and glass loggia.<\/span><\/p>\n
